From the artist
"Part of a series of paper collages on the muse. These are produced in response to representations of the female through history. A female figure stretches to the full extent of the picture frame embracing the sky. Light fills a landscape in the fore furnished with an ancient vase. The figure does not look directly at the viewer, increasing a sense of the unknown."
Artist
Australian artist Brett C Johnson is a painter and printmaker primarily focused on hand-printed paper collage techniques. He studied art at Swinburne (1993-1996) and RMIT (2007) and holds a PhD in physics (University of Melbourne, 2004). His scientific illustrations appear in numerous scientific journals.
Brett’s fine art works are explorations of colour and composition characterised by a modern figurative style. His scientific training shapes his methodical experimental approach to art making rather than the subject matter while he aims to develop a unique visual vocabulary.

paper
Our paper is a 300 GSM weight, 100% Cotton Rag composite with a delicate texture and bright white matte finish. It's certified archival by an accredited third party for 100+ years display life and is acid, lignin, and OBA free.
printing
Our prints are made using a high quality Giclée technique. This process allows us to capture the essence of the photograph in the highest fidelity. That said, some photographs were taken on film and therefore may show grain. It makes the photo unique and it is part of why we love it. We thought it best to let you know. Feel free to reach out to us if you have any questions.
framing
Our frames are a high-quality gesso-coated stock (or natural wood) with a shatterproof anti-glare acrylic. Depending on size, either a wire or sawtooth mount is employed for a seamless hanging experience.
