Meet the Artist: Alex Knight
Where’d it all start?
I started taking photos and videos of skiing when I was 14 with a GoPro. I never would have thought that I would be doing it as my full-time job 7 years later.
Favorite photo you've taken and why?
The photo of my friend spraying me with a dirt bike is one of my favorite photos recently. It was probably the most fun shoot I’ve done in a while and I love how I was able to capture the detail and the movement of the dirt.
Where do you want to shoot next?
I would love to shoot cars in Sweden or Norway next. I think the natural landscapes of Scandinavia would make the coolest backdrop for supercars.
Craziest moment you've had while shooting or traveling for a shoot?
One of the most memorable moments while traveling was in Iceland. We arrived at an active volcano, which was impressive by itself, but then the sunset lit up the sky and then a rainbow appeared right over the volcano. It was the most amazing thing I’ve ever witnessed.
Favorite photographer or artistic inspiration?
I get a ton of inspiration from photographers Chris Burkard and Aaron Brimhall. Both have very different styles but both use images to tell amazing stories. Also I’m super inspired by films from Wes Anderson.
Favorite book, TV show, or movie from the past year?
I’m not one to watch a lot of TV or go to the movies that often but I did see a show on Netflix called Lupin a few months ago and I loved it so much I watched both seasons in one weekend.
Last meal on earth? (food, setting, people, etc.)
My mom’s homemade pizza, with my family and a few of my best friends.
