Meet the Artist: Caroline Clark
Where’d it all start?
When my dad’s condom broke…
Favorite piece you’ve created and why?
I love my piece with the two rainbow trout. I was uncertain if it would turn out, but it ended up working so well. And I love blue.
Where do you feel the most inspired?
I have several communities I visit throughout the southwest. I get the most inspiration on long road trips through these areas. The landscapes and colors are unlike anywhere in the world, and I can’t help but try to recreate them.
What advice do you wish you could give your younger self?
Don’t go to college. Just be an artist already.
Favorite photographer or artistic inspiration?
I use a lot of John Watson’s photos as references which he graciously allows me to use.
Favorite book, TV show, or movie from the past year?
Only Murders in the Building is amazing.
Last meal on earth? (food, setting, people, etc.)
Carl’s Jr Bacon Cheeseburger and a Mezcal margarita by a pool with Dolly Parton and Dwight Yoakam.
